Porta potty rental in Salem, OR, on scheduled routes from Bend

How delivery to Salem from Bend works

Salem orders ride the OR-22 route over Santiam Pass, about 131 miles and 2 hours 45 minutes from Bend. Dispatch books Salem two to five business days ahead and services every 28-day unit on that same weekday. From November to March, the trip depends on ODOT chain postings at the 4,817-foot pass.

Salem jobs that make the trip worthwhile are State Fairgrounds vendor banks, multi-unit park events and monthly jobsite orders in South and West Salem. For one weekend unit in Salem, a valley operator is the cheaper buy, and dispatch will say so on the call.

Permits and events in Salem

The City of Salem's Recreation Services handles community events in parks with a 30-day processing time and requires chemical toilets to be drawn on the site plan. Closing a sidewalk, street, lane or on-street parking space requires a Work in Public Right-of-Way Permit under SRC 77.090 from Development Services, 503-584-4646. Private property events need neither.

The Oregon State Fair (August 28–September 7, 2026) at the State Fairgrounds, 2330 17th St NE, and the Salem Art Fair & Festival (September 11–13, 2026) are the big seasonal orders; Marion County regulates gatherings of 751 or more outside the city under MCC 9.25.

Rain and placement

Salem averages about 40 inches of rain a year, nearly four times Bend's 10.6, with January lows near 36°F and July highs near 84°F. Units in Salem rarely need antifreeze but often need a gravel or plywood pad, because lawn placements sink in winter; the service truck hose reaches 15 feet, so keep the pad near a paved approach.
