Lane County gathering rules

Lane County has no county-specific mass gathering ordinance that we could locate, so Oregon's ORS 433.735 and OAR 333-039-0025 apply outside the cities: gatherings over 3,000 people for 24 to 120 hours need seven toilets per 800 persons, serviced daily. Eugene's own rule (toilets at 250 or more attendees, at least one ADA) applies inside the city.

The Lane Events Center at 796 W 13th Ave in Eugene hosts the Lane County Fair (July 22–26, 2026). Rural septic permits run through the county Land Management Division's Subsurface Sanitation program. From Bend, OR-126 crosses Santiam Pass (4,817 feet) and OR-58 crosses Willamette Pass (5,128 feet, about 354 inches of snow a year).

OR-242 over McKenzie Pass closes each winter.
